WEI YEE'S STORY

Since childhood, music has been a central part of my life. With the inspiration and support of my parents, piano was my first instrument at the age of 4, followed by the violin at the age of 7.  I went on to achieve ABRSM Grade 8 in both instruments and theory.

I was awarded a full music Scholarship whilst at Edgbaston High School

and continued my studies in violin & piano at the Royal Northern College

of Music. During a gap year I taught at the Blue Coat School in Birmingham.

I trained with the British Suzuki Institute (BSI) to teach Suzuki Piano and then trained in Suzuki Violin, reaching levels 5 and 4 respectively.

I have been running my home studio in Fulham since 2005. I am unusual

in that I am able to offer both Suzuki violin and Suzuki piano. I have over 15 years' experience of teaching both Suzuki instruments. My students have won music scholarships to top schools and music colleges, and been highly successful in ABRSM exams and competitions.

Understanding that your child will potentially be studying with me for

over a decade, I realise the importance of nurturing a healthy long term

relationship. I have long experience of teaching very young children and create an atmosphere where the child can move forward.  Over the years, I have had the great joy of seeing many of my students start their time in the studio as shy young children, then blossom into confident and sensitive musicians.

I appreciate that parents are exceptionally busy people, and with this in mind, I employ the use of modern technology that helps to simplify some aspects of what I do.

I am a member of the following professional bodies:

British Suzuki Institute

London Suzuki Group

European Suzuki Association

Incorporated Society of Musicians

I have a DBS certificate and am trained in First Aid for children and babies.
